We are a family-owned international shipping and forwarding company that specializes in shipping and logistics around and across the North Atlantic Ocean. Our focus is on the transit routes between North America, Greenland, Iceland, Faroe Island, and Northern Europe.

WEEKLY TRANSLATLANTIC SERVICES
NACLine offers weekly transatlantic services connecting Portland, Maine and Europe.
This includes: full container loads (FCL) & Less than container loads (LCL), door-to-door services, project cargo, reefer and dry cargo, as well as pre- and on-carriage, warehousing & other additional services.
Our freight line in collaboration with Royal Arctic Line connects the US and Greenland. We've named the project"Leif the Lucky Bridge" (LLB) — a much welcome freight option to many contractors on both sides of the strait.
The LLB service includes both LCL and FCL services, as well as bulk and oversized cargo. Regular ports of call in Greenland are Nuuk, Sisimiut, and Aasiaat. From there, we offer 50+ different locations by feeder vessels.

Our Icelandic family is based in Portland, Maine and deeply involved with fulfillment, shipping, and logistics. Together, we bring in 30+ years of experience in international transport to our work.
Ólafur Matthiason
Founder & CEO
Ólafur (or Óli) has worked in international transport for over thirty years. His first acquaintance with transport began in 1969 when he worked as a sailor at Eimskip. In 1986, he started working for Skipaafgreiðsla Jes Zimsen (today TVG Zimsen), and thus began an uninterrupted transport career. He has held positions at Samskip in both Reykjavik, Iceland and Norfolk, Virginia.

Alexander Ólafsson
Operations Manager
Alexander has extensive knowledge and experience from the transport sector, where he has worked for the past 14 years. Before joining Ísafold, he worked for Samskip, Masterpiece International, Einstök, CFR Rinkens.

Begga Hreinsdóttir
CFO
Begga manages finances at North Atlantic Cargo Line. Before moving to the United States in 2007, she worked for Air Atlanta Icelandic in the finance department. In the United States, she has held accounting and finance positions at Samskip and BMK Ventures in Virginia Beach. Begga also manages finances at Ísafold.

Hlíf Ólafsdóttir
Operations Specialist
Hlíf joined North Atlantic Cargo Line in 2020. As Operations Specialist, she focuses on operations and logistics and manages all inbound and outbound cargo moving throughout the United States. Hlíf graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a degree in business and is based in New York City.
